In her initial years as a REALTOR®, Rachel was part of a two agent team which won awards as the #1 sales team for that office. Since becoming a solo agent, Rachel has consistently demonstrated her ability to sell fine homes at record breaking prices in multiple markets. With a focus on the luxury market, Rachel has a proven record of getting top dollar for her clients. To date, her crowning achievement has been to represent the Sellers in the record breaking, $10,500,000 sale of 4110 Woodleigh Lane, the highest recorded sales price in La Canada Flintridge history which she co-listed with her colleague.
In addition to her Real Estate license, Rachel holds a B.A. in Behavioral Psychology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from California State University at Northridge, and an A.S. degree in Legal Studies, graduating with Honors. Rachel worked for over a decade as a Paralegal initially working in Civil Litigation; first for the LA City Attorney’s Office, Civil Liability Division, then with the prominent private firm Dickson, Carlson & Campillo, working on some of the largest civil liability cases of the time. Just prior to her transition into real estate, she worked at the Ashton family law firm Edwards, Ashton & Gin, which specializes in Estate Planning, Real Estate, and Business law.
Rachel has advanced her negotiation skills by studying and training with Chris Voss, former FBI lead International Kidnapping Negotiator, and former lead Crisis Negotiator for the New York City Division of the FBI. Mr. Voss is currently the CEO of the Black Swan Group, Ltd and teaches business negotiation in the MBA program as an adjunct professor at USC’s Marshall School of Business and at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Rachel’s command of these advanced negotiation skills make her a strong and effective advocate for her clients.
Having come from the legal profession, Rachel also has advanced skills in drafting and understanding the contracts and related documents required for a real estate transaction. Rachel utilizes her legal background to be mindful of her clients’ potential exposure to liability during a transaction and works diligently to decrease that exposure. Rachel is known for her professionalism, honesty, integrity, and commitment to service. She understands how relationships are the driving force behind every transaction and makes a special effort to build cooperative relationships with everyone involved in a deal. Her clients greatly appreciate her communication and accessibility, her attention to detail, and her willingness to assist them with tasks that go beyond the real estate transaction.
“I start every day with gratitude and passion for my industry, and I end each day excited for victories and challenges the next day will bring. With my professional expertise and absolute love of Real Estate, I provide my clients with the exceptional service they deserve. When you work with me, you are my priority. You may not be my only client, but I want you to feel like you are my only client.”

We were very fortunate to find Rachel as my wife and I had already been assigned a broker by my company's corporate relocation department. Our existing broker was not providing a service one would expect from a top Realtor and my wife had an email conversation with Rachel based on properties in the area that my wife had found via the web site. Rachel's professional response was something that really grabbed our attention. Her response had integrity and was not commission led. It started with the statement \"even though I am not your agent please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you settle in or assist you with your move\". We immediately contacted my company and requested that we work with Rachel to help find our property. Based on a short mail correspondence we knew that Rachel's selfless attitude and attention to detail would help us find our dream home and maximize our chances in the competitive market
Rachel has an incredible professional demeanor; she was patient, precise and considerate. Her local knowledge of the area was impeccable and we particularly appreciated Rachel's forthright responses to our questions. It is all too easy to have a “Yes” person. Rachel was anything but and that grounded us during our search. We enjoyed watching Rachel's personable relationship building approach with the listing agents. Working angles and making sure the listing agents saw us as the strongest bidder. Her attention to detail was to put it quite bluntly impeccable. In my line of work detail is a number one trait and Rachel certainly has an eye for it. The whole negotiation process was tricky (with 9 bidders in the mix) but Rachel had it all in hand. We have purchased quite a few houses. I will wholeheartedly say that this was the easiest transaction that we have come across in a market that is particularly difficult. My wife and I count our blessings as we both agree that the only reason we were able to close on the house we have purchased is due to Rachel's professionalism, honesty and tenacity.
Rachel has an easy going laid back style that is professional and open. There are many agents who come across stuffy and perhaps somewhat egotistical. It's all in the status and commission. Not Rachel her personal goal was to be always accessible and have our best interests at heart all of the time regardless of the cost of the house. She had our brief and when we wavered due to lack of inventory Rachel was there to keep us honest and provide us with the pros and cons of a decision if we were to stray from our original brief. Rachel was quick to point out compromises and helped us understand what we should be looking at from a compromise perspective based on how she got to know us. That really helped us form better decisions during the process.
Rachel helped streamline a stressful process and create something that was informative, insightful and with a successful end goal.

If a friend of mine calls me for a real estate agent recommendation, Rachel Ashton would be the one I refer in a heartbeat. She is truly professional in all essence. While all of us do things for business profit, she puts customers' needs and satisfaction first and gives customers the utmost attention. Her communication skills are excellent and her commitment to her customers is there even after the contracts have been signed. She is sincere and truthful in all her conduct, which is rare quality, especially in the real estate industry.
